OBI-MUSUBI
Obi is necessary when we wear Kimono.
Obi-musubi means how to tie the obi on a specific way.
There are many  kinds of Obi, and many different ways to tie the obi.
Here, we will introduce the most popular Obi-musubi.

Otaiko
otaiko musubi
Otaiko (Drum knot fastening) is one of the most popular styles to fasten a sash that Koyuki does.
The obi for Otaiko has designs only on the main part and on the front.
This is for formal Kimono, and for any generation.
Fukura-suzume
Fukura suzume
Fukura-suzume (swallow) is a classical style obi for young people. The shape looks a roundish sparrow and gives us a pretty impression.
By changing the size of the main part, it can be fitted for any height.
When people wear Furisode, they tie their obi using Fukura-suzume style.

Other styles of Obi Musubi

Obi Musubi
Bunko Tsunodashi Yanagi Kainokuchi Kawari-musubi

These Obi Musubi are relatively popular.
The above styles are basic ways to tie the obi.
For example, Tsunodashi comes from the Otaiko style,
so we can call Tsunodashi Kawari Otaiko, too.
When you tie Kawari Musubi, it is better to use Rokutsu or Zentsu Obi type
that is fully patterned.
There are so many obi styles.
Once you get used to tying obi you can try tying it in varrious ways.
